Romance and Elegance Amongst the Rolling Hills of Umbria, Italy

Italy with its rich history lies a hidden gem that whispers tales of centuries gone by – La Badia. Here La Badia sits amongst the rolling hills a 13th century restored church surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. It is the site of a beautiful Church of Romanesque origin with the most beautiful marble mosaic tesserae floor at the foot of the altar and aisle that has been perfectly preserved through the centuries it makes an especially sublime place to exchange your vows.

The space is a blend of medieval castle with its tower and ruins and the romantic Romanesque Sacristy still survive the frescos adorning the walls. The abbey’s storied history spans the eras of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque, each leaving their mark on the architecture and ambiance. The cloisters, with their slender columns and delicately carved capitals, exude an air of serenity that transports visitors to a different age. Now a beautiful wedding venue, it makes the perfect location for a destination wedding in Italy.

The property has been preserved or restored leaving a balance of the old with new. The Badia with its crumbling Benedictine archway that overlooks the city of Orvieto thus makes a picturesque view for any fresco dining experience .
