Her vision, she told me, was in a park with lots of greenery and in downtown Honolulu to have the contrast of nature and urban living. My suggestion was to head over to Chinatown where on a Saturday, is pretty quiet since it’s mostly a Monday – Friday hub. So with my trusty assistant Kelli to watch over traffic, we head to the middle of the road for this image.

When I first met Amber, I just knew I had to photograph her one day. We quickly became friends through a photographer’s group here on Oahu and I think it’s because we not only have a passion for photography but, also the gift of gab!

One of the best ways I get to know my couples is to have a photo session before the wedding. Typically we call this an “Engagement” session since it happens before the wedding. It ‘s a great idea on many fronts and I’ll get into that in a later post…

Photographing weddings in Hawaii aren’t all about beaches and sand. Sometimes we get a destination bride who’d love to have some images taken at a different location and we’re ecstatic to oblige!

I love a girl who can brave the elements…Here in Hawai’i you just never know when the rain will move in (and usually right on out). I always come prepared with an umbrella especially when moving onto an obscure place where getting in and out isn’t always easy.

I love taking photographing my brides but when it comes to the guys it’s well just fun.
