When I met Maureen at our initial consultation, we started to discuss pre-wedding photographs aka the engagement shoot. She asked if I would be open to photographing her nine year puppy Sadie. She’s a cancer survivor and not sure how much time she has left. Of course I obliged and super stoked to have done […]

Hawaii International Film Festival

Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m passionate about movies. I love a good story, drama and the action that a good film captures, as well as the perspectives that documentaries reveal to me. It’s really where I get a lot of my inspiration for my photography…the lighting, the drama, the action! This form of […]

Her vision, she told me, was in a park with lots of greenery and in downtown Honolulu to have the contrast of nature and urban living. My suggestion was to head over to Chinatown where on a Saturday, is pretty quiet since it’s mostly a Monday – Friday hub. So with my trusty assistant Kelli to watch over traffic, we head to the middle of the road for this image.

engagement session

When I first met Amber, I just knew I had to photograph her one day. We quickly became friends through a photographer’s group here on Oahu and I think it’s because we not only have a passion for photography but, also the gift of gab!

engagement session

One of the best ways I get to know my couples is to have a photo session before the wedding. Typically we call this an “Engagement” session since it happens before the wedding. It ‘s a great idea on many fronts and I’ll get into that in a later post…

Wedding Photography

I love photographing this portion of the wedding. It’s the first true intimate moment between husband and wife. I loved the setting of the Hilton Hawaiian Village’s ballroom with this dramatic chandelier. This was captured by my assistant Will while I was focusing on more close up images. What’s your favorite part of the reception?
