Narrating the love story of your wedding day through artful, emotive, timeless photography.
Well hello there and welcome. Starting out my career in NYC as a graphic designer and art director, which had taken me from ice cream and beer to the fashion world, working on some of the top brands. All of which taught me about composition and working under pressure. After a life changing trip, I decided it was time to explore the world and have an adventure.
I tell you this as it helps me, help you capture your own story with care, creativity and emotion.
When I received the inquiry to photograph Jenna + Brads Wedding on the island of Whidbey, I couldn’t wait! Located on one of the small islands about 45 minutes north of Seattle, a beautifully landscaped venue where you can have an indoor outdoor event (without the heat of the Hawaii sun 😉 ). As all weddings […]
Every once in a while I’ll get a inquiry for a portrait session where the client wants to do something different. Such was the case for Mandy. She wanted images of her practicing her yoga against the wide blue ocean of Hawaii. So, we climbed down to a remote spot by the Halona Blow Hole (do […]
I became a wedding photographer in Hawaii because I wanted to document and preserve memories for newly formed families. What better gift but to leave the legacy of a wedding album for your children and grandchildren to cherish? When was the last time you had a family photo taken? When was the last time you […]
I photograph many Destination weddings here in Honolulu. I mean come on, Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places on Earth to be. So, to me, it’s not surprising that Hawaii is one of the top destinations to get married. Most people choose to do so here right on Oahu since Oahu is known […]
Fresh back from WPPI in Las Vegas. I was reinvigorated and inspired by what I heard and what I saw. From last nights wedding, there was no real sunset as the Kona winds moved on to Oahu. Kona Winds is when the winds shift direction usually coming in from the east and the come in […]
Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m passionate about movies. I love a good story, drama and the action that a good film captures, as well as the perspectives that documentaries reveal to me. It’s really where I get a lot of my inspiration for my photography…the lighting, the drama, the action! This form of […]
Photographing Hawaii weddings includes many aspects of your day, especially when you hire a wedding photographer to for all day coverage. Asking a group of people to pose in front of the camera and act happy on demand isn’t always as easy as it looks.
Who would have thought that Pantone is in charge of choosing a color that defines the year? When I used to work in the fashion industry, this decision heavily dictated the color trends for designers everywhere. Nowadays, the wedding industry has definitely taken a cue.
Her vision, she told me, was in a park with lots of greenery and in downtown Honolulu to have the contrast of nature and urban living. My suggestion was to head over to Chinatown where on a Saturday, is pretty quiet since it’s mostly a Monday – Friday hub. So with my trusty assistant Kelli to watch over traffic, we head to the middle of the road for this image.
When I first met Amber, I just knew I had to photograph her one day. We quickly became friends through a photographer’s group here on Oahu and I think it’s because we not only have a passion for photography but, also the gift of gab!
