It’s a new year! I hope January passed by fabulously for everyone. A new year is time for a new resolutions, new adventures, and definitely new colors. Since working in the fashion industry and my background in graphic design, I’ve always love looking out for the Pantone Color of the Year. The color usually sets the trend for everything from bridesmaid dresses to floral choices and table linens. The colors can help the composition and evoke different emotions and moods for each shot I take as a wedding photographer in the vibrant Hawaiian Islands.
This year’s color of the year is “Radiant Orchid” 18-3224, a sophisticated color that perfectly complements the deep shades of green found all over the island. Pantone chose this color for the enchanting and charming feel the color evokes. Radiant Orchid is considered by Pantone to be a versatile shade blending warm and cool undertones of pinks and lavenders that make it a versatile color for many skin tones and eye colors as well as themes.
The first motif that will come to everyone’s mind, of course, is the orchid for which the color of the year was named. Some ideas for incorporating this color into your wedding or engagements shoots could be in simple and elegant floral decorations. Asking your floral designer for suggestions is best, they’ll be able to help which complimentary florals will work for you.
The orchid has been described is dreamy, creative, and imaginative. For those of you looking for your perfect fairytale wedding, this color perfect for you. No matter what you choose to do with your wedding theme, Hawaii is the perfect destination to make your special day’s dreams come true.
