Photographing weddings in Hawaii aren’t all about beaches and sand. Sometimes we get a destination bride who’d love to have some images taken at a different location and we’re ecstatic to oblige! Sophia was looking for something different when she and her fiancee came to Hawaii for their nuptials. She had chosen the lava rocks at Makapu’u Beach. A fabulous choice if I do say so myself! It offers an amazing backdrop of the waves crashing against the lava, deep blue waters and a good combo of clouds and sun. Just be aware that it tends to be windy so girls, wear your hair up and lots of hair spray. OK back to Sophia, after talking about a few options, she decided on the Byodo Temple in Kaneohe (aka Valley of the Temples) since it wasn’t too far to drive back to Makapu’u. Where we had a picture perfect afternoon where Kalona form a Rainbow in Paradise officiated …enjoy. Aloha, jm
