When I met up with Maureen, I knew right away we’d get along straightway. She’s straight forward and a “can and will do girl”, and I just loved her warm smile and love for dogs. She had Sadie well before she and Phil became a couple and mentioned how important it was for her to have her along for the day. See Sadie is a cancer survivor and Maureen has an extra attachment to her because she knows that she is blessed to have her in her life each and everyday. Along came Phil (cause he’s pretty special too) and they became inseparable.
We just absolutely LOVED Maureen’s Vera Wang White dress from David’s Bridal.
We decided to do a first look with Maureen’s dad since M+P didm;t want to see each other before the ceremony. We we’er almost crying with them!
Even though M+P live here, I would still consider their wedding a destination wedding since most had to travel from the mainland to attend. It was held at the picturesque Loulu Palm Estate up on the famous North Shore of Oahu. She had fabulous DYI details from her wedding programs to her flowers which were done by her cousin the touches of oranges was the right amount of pop. We just LOVED that they incorporated both their parents’ wedding pictures in to the day as well. I think it’s a great way to honor your parents and their relationship.
I just love the tender moment between mother and son…
Eventhough when I asked Maureen’s parent to kiss…that was a bit much for her to take 🙂 It turned out to be a perfect day even with the threat of thunder storms across the island and I just knew that they would be held at bay. Guests were arriving saying it was raining most of the trip up. We thought it would have been perfect anyway. We wish M+P all the years of happiness!
