Alexa + Fariz had one of the intertwined cultural wedding we have covered to date. She is Chinese and French and he Indian. So this week we’re going to bring you their wedding coverage and their Sangeet in a separate post. Both from Canada, they met, and when Fariz got a job in Washington state, they migrated to the US and started planning their wedding. Spending every holiday at the Halekulani in Waikiki, it was easy to decide on the venue. As for the wedding day festivities, they decided that they would opt for a traditional ceremony and reception, keeping the traditional activities for the sangeet the previous day (which we’ll cover in a separate post).
The bridesmaids made their sashes from ribbon and a decorative pins they found at Claire’s.
We just loved the purple accents throughout the wedding. Everything from purple ties to to the purple Oakley sunglasses!
Alexa waiting for Fariz. It’s a perfect moment to capture some extra bridal images while you’re waiting on your groom. They opted for a first look where the couple will see each other before the ceremony). Fariz was still getting over his broken foot in which he broke playing ice hockey so, we made sure to keep the moving to a minimum. A first look is a great idea if you want to get family + bridal party images done so you can enjoy your cocktail hour or tell more stories for your wedding album.
We wish A+F all the best. They we’re so much fun and we were so excited to be a part of their Hawaii Destination Wedding at the Halekulani Hotel.
