Photographing weddings in Hawaii aren’t all about beaches and sand. Sometimes we get a destination bride who’d love to have some images taken at a different location and we’re ecstatic to oblige!

Being the curious girl that I am, I googled “Romans Sharing Cake”…and what popped up on browser was super interesting and sparked my interest in where wedding traditions actually come from.

Mallory always wanted a beach wedding and what a better place to have one but on the North Shore of Oahu. Mallory and Chris Flew in from Florida and Mallory was so excited to be staying at Turtle Bay Resort where the movie “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” was filmed.

Living in Hawaii, I get the opportunity to meet all sorts of people from around the country or even the world! Couples often will choose to have a small destination wedding on the beach, with a few family and friends.

I love a girl who can brave the elements…Here in Hawai’i you just never know when the rain will move in (and usually right on out). I always come prepared with an umbrella especially when moving onto an obscure place where getting in and out isn’t always easy.

We met up with Miki + Rob before their wedding like I would for any of my couples. What I was impressed with Miki was how well organized she was! She showed up with pictures of her wedding party and family members with them all labeled and she handed it to me for my reference.

I love taking photographing my brides but when it comes to the guys it’s well just fun.

I met up with Shiva + Roland at Waimanalo Bay for their nuptials. It’s right next to Bellows Air Force Base in Waimanalo, Oahu. Considered to be one of the top beaches, it’s know for it’s always aqua green calm water and white sandy beach

I was soooooo excited to book a wedding at the Dillingham Ranch up in Waialua. It’s located just before the Dillingham Airfield on the North Shore of Oahu.
