Traveling from Portland for their Hawaii Destination wedding, we finally met up with Dhina and Jacob over in Kailua. Kailua is a wonderful little area of our island where the beaches tend to be calm most of the time and the water is perfect for swimming and kayaking. It’s also where our President has been vacationing of every year since taking office. After grabbing some getting ready images of Dhina and Jacob, we headed over to the beach for their ceremony and portraits. Feeling pretty lucky, the East side of Oahu can be pretty windy, we were blessed with fabulous weather and very little wind. Surrounded by family and friends, they opted to incorporate some Hawaiian traditions in to their ceremony including blowing of the conch shell and the blessing of the rings, performed by the late Kahu Ryan Kalama.
I absolutely loved the purple highlights that Dhina picked to accent her day. I mean who doesn’t LOVE a pair of purple shoe (ok those of you who know me, it’s my favorite color!) From her necklace to her bouquets and shoes it tied everything together fabulously. Even the guys accents were deep eggplant in color.
Dhina + Jacob met through family and have known each other for years. They enjoy being outdoors keeping active with hiking, biking and running. Hawaii was the perfect location for them to marry. They headed over the Kauai for their honeymoon. A perfect outdoorsy persons paradise.
