An overview of my process for the JM Bride for an exclusive experience.
Thank you so much for these amazing pictures!!! We absolutely love all of them and just thank you for perfectly capturing this day. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer.
As I said before she is amazing, her work is truly art and she has such a talent for capturing magical moments. All of her pictures of our wedding day were perfection.
We are so happy that you were there with us for all the little moments.
We’ll meet either in person or on Zoom meeting, I want to learn all the details of your wedding day and get to know each other better.
After our meeting, I’ll send along a proposal and contract.
You’ll then receive my wedding guide to help you prep and have the best day ever.
We’ll plan and schedule your engagement session. This includes a creative session, outfit selection and location.
I’ll send you a questionnaire so we can go over your wedding day timeline to ensure there’s enough time to capture all the pretty details and moments you’ve been planning and dreaming about.
It has finally arrived and I’ll be there for to make sure we’re there a for all the moments that matter and you can relax and enjoy your day with your family and friends.
If your collection includes an album, we’ll meet again in person or on a zoom call to pick out your images. I’ll go in and design your book for you. You’ll get the opportunity to approve it before it gets made.
I don’t publish my pricing online, collections start at $3500 and because I have so many destination couples, I will customize a proposal to suit your wedding day and any other festivities you’re wanting to have covered. Many of our couples will add on family outings, rehearsal dinner, or any other soiree you may have during your stay on our amazing Hawaiian islands.
Absolutely, Oahu I’m asked to travel to Maui, Kauai, Hawaii (Big Island), Lanai often and have photographed weddings in New York City, Provence, Tuscany, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles and San Diego. If you’re looking to have your wedding outside of Oahu, there are travel fees involved such as air fare, hotel, car rental and some meals. In general, we arrive two days before your event and will leave the day after. Just depends on the time zones in which are traveling to.
I photograph with Canon gear and equipment. From the Canon 5d Mark iii and L Series Lenses. I love my 70-200mm IS L, 50 1.4mm USM. Being a fine art photographer, Iʻm a film shooter as well. I use the Pentax 645 system and my favorite film is Fuji 400h. Some clients just love the way film looks that you can not get with digital. I promise I have more in my bag, prepared for almost any situation.
When you book me as your photographer, I am the one showing up on your wedding day to photograph. I usually bring an assistant with me to help with lighting, carrying equipment, wrangling guests for family formals and making sure I don’t fall into those pesky holes kids dig at the beach. Yes, I have fallen into them! Sometimes couples who are having a large wedding have the need for a second photographer which, I totally understand. Please let me know when you inquire that you’re interested in having a second shooter in addition to an assistant so I may quote you accordingly.
I do not. I am a photographer and I want to be the best photographer that I can be without having to also manage a video staff too. I know several cinematographers that I love working with. In fact, we work so well together, it’s almost like having one company there for you as we believe in working as a team.
This depends on where you’re getting married. If it’s a certain venue, all venues have their guidelines we need to follow. If yu’re getting married on the beach, then yes, you’ll need to have what is called a “Right of Entry” Permit. I can obtain this for you, your planner or you can even obtain one yourself. Please note that any photographer/videographer will also have to have an “Open Access” Permit that we obtain through the Hawaii Film office. It allows us to photograph on most beaches and the state knows that we are property insured. If you’re looking to have your photography session say at a botanical garden that’s another permit from the City and County. We’ll go over these if need be in your consultation.
Depending on your coverage and the way your day unfolds, I average about 60-80 images per hour. It takes about four to six weeks for your images to be ready and uploaded to the web gallery. If you need images for thank you cards, we will provide a few for you.
Yes, all images go through a hand selected process and are edited. I’ll go over each image again, selecting a handful with some extra attention to them (that is why it takes 4-6 weeks). If your collection comes with an album, all images are crafted for printing. Blemishes removed, hairs fixed etc.
Yes. The images that appear in your gallery are Hi-Res images and when you download them they will be as well.
I get this asked of me a lot and there is some confusion over “Copyright” and “License”.
The copyright means that I am the maker of your images, the artist and I own the copyright to them. Do some artists sell the copyright to their work? Yes, they can and do. I provide a License for your images, meaning you can print, post and share as you wish.
RAW images are not available to view or for purchase. Part of the reason you hire us, is that we process them (the RAW Files) into beautiful images that you trust us to create.
Your digital files are delivered via web gallery. You may download the images and print them yourself. Or I highly suggest sending them to the lab I use. It’s the same lab I use for your album and I can guarantee the color output. I have seen what has happened using a cheaper solution and the colors are all off. Either way, you have permission to print wherever you’d like.
There is nothing I get more joy from then designing your wedding album. After your gallery is delivered, you’ll be able to pick out how many images are included with your collection (yes, you may add as many images as you’d like for an extra fee). We’ll have another consultation to go over your picks, I then go in and design your album for you. You’ll receive a link to view, make changes and approve your album. One it has been approved, I’ll send it off to the lab. It usually takes 4-6 weeks for it to be produced.
Yes! I do! Engagement session are typically scheduled for Monday - Thursday because of our weekend schedule and here in Hawaii most locations get quite crowded on the weekends as locals like to enjoy the outdoors too. If you’re looking for me to travel to where you are, please inquire in order for us to have a zoom call to discuss your details
Yes, absolutely! I have enough insurance that the state of Hawaii and many venues require me to have in order to obtain my permits.
As soon as you have your venue booked. I get booked up pretty quickly and I do not hold dates without a retainer. If you’re wanting an engagement session, then at least 9-12 months in advance.
